We enjoyed a fabulous day out on the River Tees last week. The children enjoyed taking control in the Tees Barrage Control Room and we investigated the wildlife in and along the banks of the Tees. We were very fortunate to see a seal testing the strength of the incoming tidal waters.
Here are some of the highlights from last week's colourful World Book Day.
We crafted a River Model to engineer some of the key features associated with rivers. The children were able to identify meanders, tributaries, source and mouth amongst other features.
We have challenged the children to make their own models at home.
We have really enjoyed our first few Mandarin lessons with Miss Chen. She has taught us some simple greetings and the numbers to twenty, as well as a jaunty song about two strange but content tigers.
This Term we have been studying Macbeth as part of our work on Shakespeare. This has involved lots of imaginative drama activities which have stimulated some wonderful creative writing.
