Our Outdoor Areas
Our school outdoor areas, including our pond and allotment planters, were in a state of disrepair and desperately needed bringing back to life! We approached an organisation called Darlington Cares for some help rounding up volunteers to help us clear everything out. Following a visit by Seth and Chelsea back in October 2017, they thought that it would be an ideal Community Challenge for 2018 and they set about organising volunteers, resources and funding.
We met again at the start of 2018 and a plan was drawn up! Kindly supported by Darlington Building Society, volunteers from EE would come into school to paint, clean and tidy up our school outdoor areas and apprentices from the Darlington College would come to repair our planters. Now that the project has finished, I wanted to share some of the before, during and after photos with you.
We would like to thank all of the kind people who have been involved in the project and we’re looking forward to letting the children get involved in some green-fingered-learning!
